In a repo-definition in /etc/yum.repos.d/ there is this reference to the mirrors-list.

metalink=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-$releasever&arch=$basearch

What I would like to achieve is to use this mirror-lists as provided, but to add one more mirror server, which is a local one in my home network.

When being abroad, I expect fastestmirror to chose one from the provided mirrors and when being at home to select my local one.

Can this be done?

How?

If I understand everything right, you don't need to do anything special, because all mirrors have their signatures. Just pointing dnf config-manager --add-repo to you mirror URL should be enough.
