I am using the iwlwifi driver for my built-in Intel Wireless 3160 WiFi adapter. It all works fine, including 5G, but when I do a speedcheck, I get up to 180MBps under Windows, but only around 25 on Fedora 27.

wlo1 IEEE 802.11 ESSID:"ETHYMFAST"
          Mode:Managed Frequency:5.18 GHz Access Point: A0:04:60:BB:1C:24

          Bit Rate=54 Mb/s Tx-Power=20 dBm
          Retry short limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
          Power Management:on
          Link Quality=49/70 Signal level=-61 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:352 Missed beacon:0

How can I update the driver, or correct the settings so I get a faster connection?

Are you connected to the 5G band or to the 2.4G band ? create 2 sperate SSID's and limit each to a single band (2.4/5G) and make sure you are connected to the 5G one when testing.
