Problem Installing Fedora 27 To USB HDD

asked 2018-04-02 07:45:06 -0500

I have successfully installed Fedora 27 on a USB 3.0 flash drive. When my computer starts and I use the appropriate keys to select a bootable device, the flash drive shows up in the list along with two USB 2.0 HDDs that don't have anything bootable on them.

I just bought a USB 3.0 HDD and want to install Fedora 27 on it. During the installation setup, I select the drive, reclaim all storage on the drive, and install. No problems are reported during the installation. When I boot, this drive does not appear in the list of bootable devices.

Also, if I boot from the USB flash drive, the USB 2.0 HDDs are mounted, but the new USB 3.0 HDD is not.

What can I do to make the new drive bootable?

Did you select this USB 3.0 disk to install bootloader on it? https://docs.fedoraproject.org/f27/in...

When you boot from flash drive, can you still manually mount USB 3.0 disk?
