Hi,

i´m confused tbh.

I new to Linux (Know my way around LAMP and stuff but never gone to deep). I Installed Fedora 27 on my Dell XPS 9560 and everything worked fine. Installation went smootly - needed to run in basic graphic mode, otherwise it froze durin load of the live-cd.

After installation and logon i noticed real poor performence in like Mozilla and the desktop itself. Screen-Tearing and low FPS. A short online search revealed that the optimus stuff (Intel HD 630 + GTX 1050) is some kind of problem.

So i really wonder what need todo, to get decent performence out of this laptop. I would like to just dissable the Dedicated 1050 and just use the Intel HD Graphics. Is that possible?

I noticed that the gnome sessions runs on x11 instead of wayland.

Please let me know what u guys need to know!

Thanks in advance!

Hi, this should explain everything: https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/ques...

Unless you disable Nvidia GPU, you can forget about Wayland at least for next few months.

Good luck and next time go with AMD for seamless out of the box experience.
