Last U.S. MPEG-2 Patent Expires on Feb. 13th!

If you check out the MPEG LA site under MPEG-2, the last US patent: US 7,334,248 - Expires February 13, 2018.

Can Fedora consider allowing the package "libmpeg2" into the Fedora family for the next release?   It would be useful to play DVDs that do not have CSS.    It's listed on Fedora "Forbidden Items" due to software patents, but after 20 years, it seems we can finally take it off that list.

Yes?  No?  If not, why not?
