resolution

I have a problem with choosing the resolution of my screen. It shows me the option of select 1024x768 but my screen supports 1280x1024 and I can't change for the proper resolution.

xrandr:

Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1024 x 768, maximum 8192 x 8192

I hope you can help me because I'm considering changing my distro.
