keyboard problem on fedora 21

asked 2018-01-02 11:20:32 -0600

I'm on fedora 21, my laptop is a lenovo B50 about 3 years old. Shift keys do not work well anymore (It's a recent problem). I mean the shift key on the right side of the keyboard doesn't work at all, instead the one on the left side only works if pressed toghether with some of the other keys. For example it does NOT work if pressed toghether with c, t, punctuation keys, accented letter keys. I'm in big, big trouble 'cause I'm about to write my thesis in ITALIAN and accented letters are fundamental (not to speak about the punctuation....)!!! Please help me, thank you all =)

Welcome to ask.fedora. To be honest, this sounds like a problem with your keyboard, not your OS. Get an external keyboard, and let us know if you're still having trouble. BTW, you do know, don't you, that Fedora 21 reached End of Life several years ago, and that only 26 and 27 are currently supported?

In addition, you can boot a current Fedora Live image and see how your keyboard is behaving...
