I have successfully installed bumblebee previously on fedora 26 , following the fedora offical wiki, but recently I use optirun and find it not work:

>optirun --status

/var/run/bumblebee.socket was incorrect.
[ 3564.836607] [ERROR]Could not connect to bumblebee daemon - is it running?

the I try bumblebee-nvidia --debug:

sudo bumblebee-nvidia --debug
--force compile selected via /etc/sysconfig/nvidia/compile-nvidia-driver --debug mode selected. If you don't want to wait for an update, download NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-384.98.run from NVidia site, place it into /etc/sysconfig/nvidia/ and run bumblebee-nvidia or reboot your machine.

Thanx, it's a good fix. You know why bumblebee repo uses an older driver version then one published on Nvidia site?

Probably because during working hours those guys are ...busy working, trying to make a living and then spending some spare time with their free software little project. That's just me guessing...
