How install nvidia drivers on fedora 27

hello pals, I have problems with nvidia driver of rpmfusion (387.22) , the system is very slow after install the driver. I installed by this way on fedora 26. I had to uninstall the driver.


[bruce@localhost ~]$ lspci |grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF119 [GeForce GT 610] (rev a1)

how list all available drivers?
when i ran: dnf list xorg-x11-drv-nvidia*
Show me a list but only three different drivers, 387, 304 , 340, image description

is there no more drivers there?

Te recomiendo usar los drivers de negativo17; estos estan funcionando bien en Fedora 27...

saludos , he instalado la misma version del driver (387.22 ) siguiendo la famosa web "if not true then false", esta vez me quedo con esta forma , ya lo habia probado hace tiempo, pero en f26 instale x medio de rpmfusion y no tuve problemas aparentemente , gracias por esta otra opcion q te salva la campana.

If you want to do it the easy way, and get access to all sorts of Good Stuph, install the rpmfusion repositories. Then you can install the drivers in a way that gets them updated automatically when you boot into a new kernel instead of having to boot to a CLI only system and reinstall them yourself.

ok I understand that, I intalled in f26 by rpmfusion , but now in f27 after reboot the pc after type my password My Suystem was very slow. For fix that I type CTRL+ALT+F1 and uninstalled the nvidia drivers , i tried that two or three times, but i get the same result. I got to install nvidia drivers with the if-not-then-true.. guide , but now how switch to xorg, because uncomment WaylandEnable=false in /etc/gdm/custom.conf , bring me to a blackscreen again after login screen

Hi,

I followed letter by letter the guide linked below, it worked for Fedora 26 and for Fedora 27 after upgrade. You download the driver from nvidia website. Type cautiously every command they say (especially the ones to reboot to one mode and the other).

This works in the first place but be aware that you can run into issues when the kernel updates stuff relevant to the nvidia driver. The drivers from rpmfusion are more stable in my experience.

It's not kernel update stuff issues, it's xorg issues.

In my case in f26 i haven't problems installing nvidia drivers by rpmfusion, now in f27 my system was svery slow in the login screen after install nvidia drivers by rpmfusion.

Well, that is your use wayland. nvidia driver not a support wayland yet, remove comment by WaylandEnable=false from /etc/gdm/custom.conf and then fast login screen.

I will try that the next time, before reboot the pc after install nvidia drivers by rpmfusion I will uncomment WaylandEnable=false. But i think i do try that and my pc after login screen showed a black screen. Now with if-not-true-then-false guide all was ok in the installation of the drive.
