I've just succeeded to connect the Claws Mail software to my Yahoo mail account. What I had to do is go to The YahooMail site, Account Info, Account Security, Manage App Password (or Generate App Password) They'll give you a list of apps, mostly Android or IPhone, but probably you''l want to choose "Other app", then hit the generate button and on the next page they'll give you a password to use it with Evolution.
That's what you need to do, generate an app password for your mail client, and use it in your mail client.
Does Yahoo have some switch in settings which allows IMAP/POP3 login?

Due to hacking of their service, multiple times, I would strongly encourage you to consider moving to some other email service such as Gmail.
