Hello,

I would like to know how can I run the following applications:- 1) Fifa game OR/AND any other games meant for 'PC' 2) Oracle VM Virtual Box OR VMware Workstation 3) Outlook

Also, I would not want any virus or any malware on my desktop. Kindly let me know if the above points can be achieved if I install fedora for my desktop.

regards, Madhup

Linux is not a drop in replacement for Windows and if all you want to do is run Windows apps (games / outlook) stay with windows. I suggest you run Fedora in a virtual machine or boot the live media and try it. You will need to fine linux alternates to outlook and other programs - Thunderbird, firefox, chromium ....

LInux security is not the same as windows security. Whole books are written on security but bottom line is Fedora uses selinux and other then browser hijacks is much more resistant to malware. There are no known active viruses for Linux.

You can also use GNOME Boxes which is GNOME's version of VMware

1. You can install PlayOnLinux to play windows games. What Windows games work through PlayOnLinux can be found here.

2. How to install Virtual Box can be found here.

3. I don't know about outlook. You can use outlook online, which works, or try installing the full microsoft offiice suite through PlayOnLinux and try to test outlook.

Note: Windows games often require a bit of configuration before they will run and most do not run without bugs or annoyances. You can check here - https://appdb.winehq.org/ but many games require specific versions of wine and / or specific configurations.

1 playonlinux software catalogue: https://www.playonlinux.com/en/suppor...

3 Also consider Thunderbird, Kontakt or Evolution as alternatives to Outlook.
