missing folder /run/media
on my Computer the external HDD used to be mounted under /run/media/frank/TimeMachine-iMac. Since 2 or 3 days the complete folder /run/media is missing and the HDD is mounted under /mnt/sdb1
i noticed that because the HDD has now to be removed with right-click and 'unmount' and not with right-click and 'remove savely' (don't know if this is exact the term used in english). And of course BackInTime wasn't able to do its backup and therefore i had to change the settings in BackInTime to get proper backups again.
what's going wrong here? on my 2nd computer with the same Kernel (4.12.9-300.fc26) the /run/media is still here and the folder /mnt or /media are empty
added comment: any HDD or USB stick are now mounted under /mnt/sdx1 instead of /run/media/frank/devicename
What desktop environment, if any, are you using?
How did you arrange for the file system to be mounted?
Has any of the files in
/etc
been modified lately?Has a new software package been installed lately?
/run/media
will be created when needed when udisks2 is used to mount the file system.
