Nvidia drivers & cuda stopped working after update
yesterday I updated to 4.12.8-300.fc26.x86_64 kernel immediately after that NVIDIA & cuda stopped working
the Nvidia driver were removed from dkms, (dkms status came empty)
Nvidia-smi stopped working After re-installation, lt he new nvidia 384.69 worked fine till I installed cuda, then they stopped working.
after trying several things I came to know that the issue was in xorg-x11-drv-nvidia version, it is still 375.66 so the version mismatch error was shown. especially with NVML version mismatch.
anyone know how to fix this?
For my own desktop, I use nothing but Nvidia Proprietary, with dkms enabled. I have had zero problems in F26 with kernel updates and I am using 384.69 from the nvidia website. I also read that F27 will use the Nvidia driver as primary, and an autofallback to nouveau if needed. if you need step by step to install proprietary, just ask.
Yes a step by step install guide would be great
I also used Nvidia Proprietary, with dkms enabled but the rpmfusion drivers are interfering, a step by step instruction guide for handling this would be great. please help xorg-x11-drv-nvidia version create problem its from rpmfusion if i installed cuda with rpmfusion disabled the transaction fails. if I do it otherwise this issue happens again. is there a way to stop those xorg-x11-drv-nvidia from getting installed?
