Using Fedora25 KDE, the plasma shell hangs up occasionally, preventing use of the mouse to change virtual desktops or access the menu. Is there a line command that I can use to restart or restore plasma shell functionality from a virtual terminal?
Some recommend killing plasmashell process with:
killall plasmashell
and then starting it again with
kstart plasmashell
See if that works for you.
When it freezes, can you move mouse across the screen and switch between applications normally? I mean, Only shell locks up?
I can usually switch between open windows and have mouse functionality within the individual window, but I cant use the KDE menu or refresh the desktop. I can USUALLY use the keyboard to open a virtual terminal, but I can't use a konsole terminal on the desktop unless it is already opened. I haven't had a hang since I posted this question. I'll let you know how your suggestion works out. Thanks.
