Can't get higher than 1024x768 resolution with intel graphics 620 and Fedora 23. Seems to work fine out of the box with Fedora 25

asked 2017-05-30 04:20:00 -0500

I'm using Qubes where Dom0 is Fedora 23 and 1024x768 is the only option I have in the dropdown menu at Display.

From my research this graphics works fine out of the box on Fedora 25.

For some reason it doesn't on the Fedora 23 used for Qubes Dom0. I followed some tutorials of placing config files in X11/xorg... folder but that made the system to not even boot :)

I've been struggling with this for the past 3 days. So, really hoping for an actual solution here :)

It's a desktop PC with latest i7, using the built in 620 intel graphics and monitor is 3800x2440. (works fine on Ubuntu as well, so it's not the hardware)

Thank you!

Welcome to ask.fedora. I don't know why F 23 doesn't read your monitor's resolution correctly, but I do know that it has passed its End of Life and is no longer being maintained or updated, even for security issues. As F 25 works Just Fine, my suggestion is simply to stick with that and get rid of the obsolete version.
