Maximum resolution of my laptop screen is 1366 x 768, maximum resolution supported by my TV is 1360 x 768 (also indicated in gnome's "displays" when used as second monitor. When I choose to mirror output from laptop's screen to TV, the highest available resolution for both should be 1360x768, but I get offered only 1280 x 720. In ubuntu GNOME I get offered 1360 x 768.

Can anyone, please, help me with this?

Try using a thunderbolt port on laptop (if it is present), connecting the monitor/TV to the that port will probably resolve the issue, no other change needed.
