Hi, I'm testing Fedora 26 and happens that some radio stations stop playing on RhythmBox after 5/10 seconds. I have installed all the GStreamer codecs and for the most part of the radio stations all went fine.

What could I do to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Because in Fedora 26 and superior, changes some parts in gstreamer (new sub-packages)... Unitedrpms made the change since Fedora 24...

No issue on Fedora 25. So, nothing to do to fix it?

RhythmBox never worked for me at all - so I added the RpmFusion-free repo and installed VLC Media Player. I would highly recommend this procedure and additionally, remove RhythmBox from your system to both free disk space and improve security - every unnecessary package will interfere with the overall security, stability and speed of the computer.

i have the same problem here with Fedora28. Rhythmbox starts to play internet radio stream and after a few seconds the play stops with an "internal data stream error". The funny thing is, if i play the same internet radio stream in Firefox, it works well without interruption, at the same time and on the same computer using the same internet connection.

i see 2 possible reasons for this behavior:

  • Firefox and Rhythmbox are using different streaming codecs with different behavior
  • the buffer for the internet stream is shorter on Rhythmbox than it is in Firefox

is there anyone who can say if it is possible to adjust the buffer in Rhythmbox?
