Hello everybody, I have some problem my virtual machine (my host is win 8.1 ). I think my virtual hard drive broken. I could run only ls command.

grub rescue> ls
(hd0)

I run live cd and fsck -c -p /dev/mapper/fedora-guest-root

rescue prompt suggests it's not finding /boot/grub2 where the bulk of grub is located; and hd0 alone means it's not seeing partitions, so this is pretty weird. From the live cd what do you get for the following:

parted -l u s p
pvs
vgs
lvs

What did you get for the fsck command? You didn't say.

I am sorry! I did not answer question because I was format my vbox and reinstall fedora. But my nightmare is back.:(

fsck -c -p /dev/mapper/...-root

This command not work. I type fsck -c /dev/mapper/...-root command first, after fsck -c -p /dev/mapper/...-root .

I solved my problem. But When I boot my virtual machine and login with my id, I saw last used time before 8 june 2017. I afraid I lost my data after that day. (No problem, my virtual-machine boot 2-3 times in total since that day.) Thanks for all
