There always seems to be something downloading to my computer with no network apps running. This happens all the time. How do I find out which process is doing this and stop it?

Thanks

dnf meta data? packagekit meta data? each of the two can be significant traffic and both are happening in parallel on a default Fedora system.

You can use bmon and tcptrack and iftop to monitor your connections and traffic. If you don't know any of them, I would start with giving iftop a try...

I just added the two programs you recommended; and hopefully I'll get a chance to use them soon. In the meantime I installed and used Nethogs and got the results shown in on the attachment.
