internet connection from vmware

Dear all,

First of all I'm a newbiees. I have installed Fedora17x64 in VMWare Player (installed on Windows 7 64 bit). Fedora works fine. The question is how can I connect to internet form Wireless device I have on my laptop.

I can ping the VMWare Network Adapter VMNet1 (which is 192.168.58.1) I can ping the linux hostname (which is 192.168.58.100) But my laptop connect to the internet via Wireless I try to add wireless connection but I don't know how to configure the IP, Netmask and Gateway... etc...

Could anyone help me out...?

go to "Edit" select "virtual network editor" and set up bridged network adapter by selecting your wireless LAN from drop down list

Here is a simple way to connect with your WIFI -

  1. Click on Edit from the menu section
  2. Virtual Network Editor
  3. Change Settings
  4. Add Network
  5. Select a network name
  6. Select Bridged option in VMnet Information -> Bridge to : Automatic
  7. Apply

That's it. You might be asked the connected password. Add it and you would be able to connect to the network.

P.S. - I will like to add screenshots of each step to simplify but currently I can't since I am new member. Hope it helps.
