Netflix on fedora (I use Chrome and only get 480p)
I use Netflix on my computer a lot, but I can't use it properly on Fedora. I'm a Firefox user but I use Chrome for Netflix, because it works "out of the box", but only with 480p quality...
Maybe a problem related to graphic drivers? Maybe I need to configure some things?
And chromium?
It does not work with chromium or firefox (not out of the box, at leas) in linux. Chrome is the only browser that works.
A quick Google search suggest that Netflix doesn't like the open-source driver, and some anecdotal report says using nVidia proprietary driver makes Netflix able to stream at 1080p (see http://disq.us/p/t9sf9o ). @davidva Only Chrome works out of the box since Netflix require Widevine DRM plugin which is not distributed in Chromium.
By the way, I would like to add that I've been looking for a solution and some people using ubuntu got to play HD videos installing the proprietary drivers of the graphics card (AMD Radeon HD 6950). I've tried this but the latest version is really old and the installer stops because the X.Org version is not supported.
So I guess short answer is that I can't watch HD videos with Netflix in fedora :/
