Sort of a linux noob here, not sure what to do. I tried appending the acpi_backlight commands to the grub config file but nothing worked so far. I've also tried to install this nvidiabl module https://github.com/guillaumezin/nvidiabl but it does not build on kernel 4.9.

I mean, sure I can just bind the xbacklight commands to my keys but the problem of my brightness slider not working will still be there.

Thank you

In some systems appending ACPI_OSI= does work. Just like that, an empty string after = . Give it a try.

Nope, doesn't work.

In the past when I used arch, installing nvidiabl from the aur will make my brightness slider work on any DE. If I don't install it, none of the sliders from any DE works. I'm quite confused ):

Thank you anyway
