Hi, I installed all the gnome theme packages, the extension and the tweak tool. I can't get the theme to change for the life of me. What is wrong with this thing and why won't it recognize theme files?

where did you copy the themes? They should be extracted into a directory called .themes in your home folder, that is ~/.themes.

Run ALT+F2, then the command r to restart your Gnome Shell for the new themes to become effective.

Thank you everybody for your responses. OK, I tried that. Still no luck. I'm using a Radeon HD 5770 video card. Might this be part of the problem?
