Canon ip1900 in Fedora 17 64 bit
My printer can be detected via System Settings -> Printers -> Add New Printer, but after I click Add button, a installation windows pops up, and disappears. I tried a few times, but the same result repeated.
How can I check the message after clicking Add button? How should I install it properly?
Thanks in advance!
Update 1 & 3:
I downloaded its drivers, and installed two rpm files and its dependents files, e.g.
http://es.software.canon-europe.com/products/0010647.asp
Please note that, the download includes two *.rpm files, and a folder that contains files that needs to be compiled. I have no idea how to compile it successfully (I doubt whether I need to compile it at all). It throws error:
pstocanonij.c:20:23: fatal error: cups/cups.h: No such file or directory
I check the Add/Remove Software, it has been installed: cups-1:1.5.4-2.fc17 (64bit)
# rpm -i cnijfilter-common-3.00-1.i386.rpm
# rpm -Uvh cnijfilter-ip1900series-3.00-1.i386.rpm
and other commands to install its dependency files.
but the problem still exist, ie, after I clicked Add button in the Add Printer windows, a new windows shows and disappear immediately. But the printer is not recognised and installed in the OS.

I tried this, but to no avail
