[F25] DisplayLink's drivers
Hello there,
I have a Dell XPS 13 9360 with installed Fedora 25 and kernel version 4.8.15-300.fc25.x86_64.
I have tried to connect an external monitor with the Dell DA100 and D3100 docking which both come with a DisplayLink's chipset. Both of them do not work even if I tried to install the driver from https://github.com/displaylink-rpm/di...
Do you have any idea or experience on where to see what's going wrong, please?
Thanks!
I do believe that as of this reply DisplayLink is not working with Wayland, which is the default for Fedora 25 unless you've changed it. I am not 100% certain but I think it may be due to evdi compatibility? I am still reading up on this issue myself. Try switching to xorg from the login screen, then try using the rpms from displaylink-rpm.
UPDATE: I tried following my own advice, Fedora 25 Cinnamon/Gnome via xorg Kernel 4.9.5-200.fc25.x8664 Dell D3100, to no avail. I used fedora-25-displaylink-1.3.43-1.x86 64.rpm from https://github.com/displaylink-rpm/di... . EVDI is installed, and displaylink.service is running. I can see in the logs that it sees my two displays plugged into the D3100 but does not present them under Settings > Displays.
I'll keep trying to figure this out, as I want to use my D3100 with my workstation and laptop, both running Fedora 25.
I'm in the same situation where I'd like to run D3100 on my Dell XPS 13 running Fedora 25 with wayland. I'm hoping that someone can come up with a solution soon.
