In Anaconda view, free space is the space of the disk which is NOT partitioned. I guess your 512GiB free space is inside a (or event more) partitions, right? If you have an empty 512GiB partition, the solution is easy: you should just delete that partition and let Anaconda create needed partitions there. If the free space is inside a partition with some data, you should shrink your partition. If my answer don't help, please add your disk layout to your question (e.g. gdisk -l output). Where exactly does that 512GiB reside?
