Does the hardware support Fedora 18? Which hardware is it? You might try running a Live CD to check this and upgrade since Fedora 16 is end of life and won't receive any further updates.

Having said that, if you prefer the graphical interface, you can go to the office category and select "LibreOffice Spreadsheet Application", "LibreOffice Presentation Application" and "LibreOffice Word Processor Application". The package names are libreoffice-calc, libreoffice-impress and libreoffice-writer respectively.

If you are familiar with the command line, the easiest way to get LibreOffice would be do the following

su -c 'yum install @office'

Enter your root password and you will have the office suite installed.
