I don't know if that helps, since it's been some time already since the question was made. Plus what I did, I did on a Fedora29 Spin KDE.

I've tried to remove Cinnamon Desktop too by groupremove, since I installed it by groupinstall. However by doing it this way it would remove some "unremovable" packages. So, I simply tried dnf remove cinnamon and it removed most of the packges installed for this DE.
