Fedora and ThinkPad Suport Fan control system.

a. install lm_sensors and thinkfan work for ThinkPad [F29 or Lower]

  • # dnf install lm_sensors
  • # sensors-detect
  • # systemctl enable fancontrol
  • # systemctl start fancontrol

b.install Think Fan Driver

  • # dnf install thinkfan
  • # thinkfan-0.9.3-6.fc29.x86_64

c. fan control using a configuration with in lm_sensors - pwmconfig

easy configuration, there's a script named pwmconfig which lets you interactively write your configuration file for fancontrol. Alternatively you can write this file yourself using the information from man page
